That simple, beautiful dream grew into the Philippines’ first and only 5-star boutique dive resort in Anilao, and his goats still roam the grounds today.

Anilao is the cradle of Philippine diving — its rich waters hold unspoiled coral reefs, vibrant macro critters, sea turtles, and rare nudibranch species that attract photographers from around the world. La Chévrerie’s Dive Center carries MARES equipment and is staffed by SSI-certified instructors who offer Open Water, Advanced Open Water, and Nitrox courses. Dive sites are 5–10 minutes away by boat.

For those who prefer to stay closer to the surface, Anilao’s house reef lies just metres from the resort’s shore — teeming with colourful fish and healthy corals in crystal-clear, shallow water. The resort provides high-quality branded masks, fins, and snorkels (freshly sterilised between uses). Spotting sea turtles just offshore is not uncommon.
